Reservations on an
upcoming kidding require a $50 deposit. Upon
notification of availability of any kid reserved from us a $100
deposit is required to hold the kid . All stock must be
paid for in full prior to pick up / shipping. In the
unlikely event that a reserved kid dies prior to leaving Sage
Acres the buyer may choose to have the deposit refunded or
placed on another kid. Shipping is available via Idaho
Falls Idaho airport. Should
you wish to ship out of Salt Lake City, Utah, there is a fuel
surcharge of $75 due to the high cost in fuel. We do upon
occasion attend shows and might be able to meet the buyer at
such shows. Buyer is responsible for all shipping
costs including the cost of the crate, vet exam, and any health
certificates that may be required. Animals are guaranteed to be healthy at time of shipment, and
to be sound breeding animals upon maturity.
Should an animal not be able to breed,
then the animal would be replaced by another animal with
one of equal but not less than similar quality.
All replacements must be returned to the farm, and a
statement from a licensed veterinarian must accompany said
request. No
offspring may be registered out of an animal that has been
replaced or any further contract will be said null and void.
Herd Health
We strive to raise
healthy productive animals that are structurally correct and
sound. We also feel healthy animals add to the longevity of an
individual animal. Our
animals are fed high quality alfalfa, COB sweet mix, and we use
loose trace minerals, and loose trace iodized salt.
All of our kids are taken from their dams at birth and
bottled raised. We
practice CAE prevention, meaning
we heat treat colostrum, pasteurize
the milk and do bi-annual CAE testing.
At current our entire herd is CAE negative.
Does are given booster vaccinations of CDT & Bo-Se
two weeks prior to kidding.
Kids are given Bo-Se at birth and CDT when we disbud at
the appropriate stage of bud growth. They are also given ¼ cc of ivomec orally.
We feel this gives them the edge in growth and health.
Along with regular hoof trimming,
our does get brushed and dusted regularly.
We generally worm our goats 2 x a year and as needed on
individual animals. Part of being healthy is being resistant to parasites, both
external & internal.
If you should have any questions regarding our health
program, feel free to contact us.
We don’t know it all but we do know what works for us. |
